MarSensing distributes Lubell Labs® Underwater Acoustic Transducers which are specifically designed for military and scientific applications. We have experience in using these underwater acoustic sources in various scientific sea trials in which people from MarSensing have participated.

The LL-1424HP is a piezoelectric underwater acoustic transducer designed for general purpose military and scientific applications. The LL-1424HP may also be used as an underwater speaker when high power is required. The LL-1424HP has a useful frequency range of 200Hz-9kHz, a maximum SPL of 197dB/uPa/m @ 600Hz w/80V rms applied, and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms. Because of variation between cast parts, the uniformity of response cannot be guaranteed but is typically +/- 1.5dB from published values. The LL1424HP is provided with an AC1424HP bridging transformer box allowing connection to amplifiers up to 2500 watts at 4 ohms bridged mono. The LL-1424HP is built to withstand ocean environments by virtue of its 10 mil epoxy finish and cage mounting system. The LL-1424HP is fitted with a Seacon bulkhead connector and includes a mating 75 foot Seacon cable.

The Lubell LL9642T Underwater Acoustic Transducer is designed for general purpose military and scientific applications. The LL9642T may also be used as an underwater loudspeaker when simultaneously high power and high bandwidth is required. The LL9642T has a useful frequency range of 250Hz-20kHz, a minimum impedance of 36 ohms, and an SPL of 183dB/uPa/m @ 1 kHz and 193dB/uPa/m @ 10kHz with 100 Vrms applied. The LL9642T requires 33 ohms (round-trip) of 2-conductor stranded cable and can be used up-to 4.19 km. The LL-9642T withstands extreme conditions by virtue of its rugged stainless steel, PVC, and EPDM construction. Unique cage design allows stud mounting to pier, or multiple speaker array producing sound levels in excess of 200dB. Speaker, cable, and amp RoHS & CE marked for export to EU.

The LL98 is a 64 ohm piezoelectric underwater speaker identical to the LL9816 except for higher impedance. Because of higher impedance, cable lengths up to 4 km using standard SO cable are possible with minimal losses.

The LL964 is a heavy-duty 64 ohm piezoelectric underwater speaker identical to the LL916 except for higher impedance. Because of higher impedance, cable lengths up to 4 km using standard SO cable are possible with minimal losses.
